What Rates to qoute for existing images, commercial use

Hi,
I’m looking for some advice on what rates I should quote for my images to be used by a hotel for possible use in their promotional material.
I was selling some of my prints at a Christmas market that was organised at the hotel, someone from their sales department passed by and admired what I had on display.
She mentioned getting in touch, that she could be possibly interested in using some images in promotional material, possibly a brochure.
I don’t have experience in pricing for single images after a shoot to be used in this manner (I usually do video work and the photography is a by product of having a DSLR).
If anyone could give me any help or insight into what I should charge per image for commercial/promotional use, I would greatly appreciate it.
I’m unsure at this moment how much material and what format/size they could possibly intend to distribute incorporating the image or images.
If there is a rule of thumb on increasing rates inline with how much they use the image, or if I should bill them per year of use, again I would love to hear some advice.
It is a 5 star hotel and spa, so I’m sure they wouldn’t balk at a price per image that is inline with industry rates, I’m relatively new to this side of the business so I will adjust the fee accordingly…
Thanks for reading and any help you may provide.Here’s a Flickr link of what I had for sale: http://www.flickr.com/photos/seanmur…7638065096013/” onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false;
BallymanParticipantYou need to find out exactly what they want to use the photo(s) for and for how long. The details below are what you need to find out from them to quote properly for this. Once you have this information then you can use Alamy or Getty’s pricing calculators with the info below to get a price for what the image(s) are worth for licencing. What you charge of course is totally up to you but at the very least you will have an idea of they would have to pay if they wanted pics from a stock library.
1. Image Use (brochure, advertising, print media etc.)
2. Details of Use (Brochure, newspaper, magazine, billboard etc.)
3. Image Size (1/2 page, full page etc.)
4. Print Run (up to xxx prints)
5. Placement (Front cover, inside, back cover etc)
6. Start Date
7. Duration required
8. Territory (Ireland, Europe, Worldwide etc)SMVMemberThanks Ballyman, that gives me a much clearer idea of how to approach them.

Hey Steve, thanks for that!
The prints got plenty of admirers over the weekend, could have done with a few more customers though!
I had a few people from the Dublin area that made some purchases, I gave them your details so hopefully you might get some of them getting in touch looking for frames…stcstcMember
