I would always suggest getting the sturdiest tripod that you can afford. People who buy “cheap” usually end up disappointed with their tripods & end up buying again. As the D3200 is a lightweight camera, it may not “slip” or drift when turned on it’s side, but if the tripod is too light, it could possibly topple in a strong wind etc.
I was one of those people Miki is talking about, went out a bought a cheap tripod not long after getting my DSRL. I grow out of it after about a week, not strong enough at all for what I wanted it for. I ended up saving for a while and buying a decent Manfrotto tripod, I still have to this day and regret ever buying the other one.
Manfrotto, Slik, and Giotto are all excellent makes, expect to pay around
€100 + for a decent one. You may be lucky and get a second hand one but in
My experience people tend to keep the good ones.
I agree with all of the above comments. A cheap and lightweight tripod wont break the bank but it will break your heart and potentially your camera in the event of a strong wind
Like Shutterbug said Manfrotto, Slik, and Giotto tripods are not too expensive and they are trustworthy.
In the long run investing in a good tripod will pay for iteself
