I am new to DSLRography and just got a nikon D3200. I am trying to learn how to use it taking photos on Auto. What does no flash, compulsory mean in the property details? Does it mean it was compulsory but not used or was not compulsory at all

Only guessing here, but to me that sounds like flash was turned off even though the available light
warranted using flash, you would use this for long exposures at night or when you just don’t want the
flash to fire? As I say just guessing, what does the manual say?
