An evening in London,
-
CelticpicsParticipant
Got the chance to spend an evening in London’s city.
I had to get a few shots of this very iconic city.
C&C welcome.shutterbugParticipantReally nice set of images, love them all especially the phone box, like the processing
you have used.CelticpicsParticipantThanks Jenny,
I know the processing on the phone box is a bit “cliché” but I couldn’t avoid it.
thanks again for your comment.
Philippe.AnonymousParticipantI also like the second one regardless of the processing! If the glove fits as they say….
I think the ‘road literature’ in the first doesn’t help the image.
Going to try get over some time this year, would love to give it a go!sndipoMemberI was in London last weekend now (for the first time)! In town only during the day and didn’t see any of the pretty evening lights or anything though :( Also had no gear with me, just a small pocket camera. Was thinking of throwing a few pictures up once I get the time to sort some but after these..you’ve done a great job portraying the city scene so I think I might keep mine for a while! :D
The phone box shot is spot on! That’s exactly how the whole place made me feel anyway  Looks like there were about 1000000 times less people around in the evening as well – during the day you spend more time stepping sideways to avoid other people than actually getting to places!!
Yes, I am still ‘in the zone’ and therefore might come off as a bit too excited about the subject, haha :)
CelticpicsParticipantThanks for the lovely comments, I suppose I was lucky to be shooting mid-week, but I never met so many landscape photographers in one night.
For the story , I also noticed that once you set up your camera and tripod and start working at your shot , you tend to attract a lot of people, who feel there must be a picture to be taken if you are there, for example once we were set up for the phone box , in a fairly quiet area, a couple of tourists on cycles stopped to see what we were taking shots of , and then proceeded to take pictures of each other pretending to make a phone call with their phones, and had us wait for a good 5 minutes before realising they might be in the way. but that’s all part of the experience.
Also I think you should post your pics of London, there isn’t only one way to look at things, and mine is certainly not better than any one else’s.
cheers.
