Driving back from walking in Ballyvauggan yesterday, I spotted this lone tree out on the Limestone, so went back there yesterday evening and spent a quiet hour praying for the light, I kinda never happened so this was as good as it got. First photo post btw

I don’t think you have done bad at all with the light you got, so the prayers must have
been heard!RASMITH32MemberLovely shot and well done on your exposure !. Did you light the tree from the front , bottom of trunk would suggest you did or is it multiple layered exposures?. Nice light trail coming frm the sun . I would clone that red glare in the tree as it draws the eye away slighty. Lovely work and your other shots posted too. Welcome to the site also!.

See that’s why I love honest feedback, I never even noticed that red glare til you pointed it out. As I say, I’m a lifetime learner. Thank you so much for the great advice. I’ve updated the photo with the flare cloned out.
I used a speedlight hand held and fired remotely from the camera to light the tree. I also tried a few twin exposures but this shot had the best overall lighting and the hint of reflection of the sun on the stones in the foreground.
…also thanks to you Jenny for the comments
sndipoMemberThat is lovely. Just enough light you have to create the ‘mood’. Great find! :)
Comradai NicoParticipantGorgeous photo! The Burren is a wonderful, majestic place. I had the pleasure of travelling there with friends a few years ago, up to the Portal Dolmen, and down to Aillwee caves, fell in love with the place, bhí sé go-halainn!
