Again out on a boat. Not as sharp as I’d have like. You should try taking a photo in a boat
    that won’t stop moving :)

Was never so happy as to get off at the end of the day though :sick

    Andriy :) I wish

Fajitas. Thanks. Hard to take a photo on a rocky boat, water flying everywhere, guys in bits lol
Used the Sigma 70-300mm APO II (note the II) its the better one.

    Nice one! Great sharp image!!!

Mind if I suggest one thing? It’s so much to do with the shot itself, just the border?

You mean to add a border ?

Well, just a very small white one, no more that 10 or so pixels…Then add a tiny bit of gaussian blur from the border to a few pixels inside the image, it’ll bring the background way back and make the bird stand out more…possibly!

At the moment, the background is really soft, and contrasts too much with the straight corners!

It’s not a big deal, but a nice finishing touch if/when it works!

Thanks. I’ll have a play with it and see how it looks.

Fffft, not only is it lovely and sharp but you managed to leave space in front of the bird too, damn it’s good.

I think a border would be nice, just something very very subtle, as fajitas said, to take away the hard edge.

Never got around to posting on this. So far out of what you’ve posted, this is definitely my favourite :)
Excellent. Agree with Elven, a border would finish this off nicely.

Lol, no problemo, open it in PS, make sure White is your secondary colour, go to image/canvas size and bring up the canvas size a bit, whichever format is handiest for you!

Then (imo) select a few pixels below the border, and drag around, then select/invert selection, then filter/blur/gaussian blur and apply it somewhere below 3 usually! Play around, you don’t want to make it obvious, because it’s moreso to enhance the image than pronounce the border!!!

    Never tried that way.
I always bumped the BG up to a layer added the new BG as white/black canvas size that up then put a stroke on your chosen colour on the image layer.
