Captured today on the streets of Dublin… a really nice guy who was more than willing to pose.

Wonder if he’d come to a studio with me :?:

As always, comments, critique and feedback welcome

This guy was made for b+w without a doubt. Good of him to stop and let you take his photo.

Both really good shots, but prefer the first one.

Well done. I might pluck you the courage to go out in the streets myself :P

Actually i feel they are two completely different shots, and i love both – BUT :) – maybe i’m going too deep here  but the second is terriffic, his eyes and expression are quite vulnerable, in direct opposition to his image.. it reminds me of Edward Scissorhands ..

    Love them

LoGill said it more eloquently than I could – brilliant shots. Makes me want to pick up that 50mm 1.8 so I can start doing some portrait work.

    Thanks everyone :D

Antifuse, I definitely wouldnt want to discourage you from using your 50mm (God knows, mine doesn’t get enough use) but these were actiually shot using my Sigma 24-70mm f2.8

Hehehe… well, by “pick up” I actually meant “go out and buy”… :) My D50 kit lens doesn’t get quite as wide open as I’d like :)

They’re some photos for sure, agree with everyone else.

Edward Scissorhands lol, exactly right. Great photograph, love the conversion done to black and white.
His expression is so unexpected. Total contrast to what the back of his head portrays.

Never just the book by its cover…
