Gee. What a reflection from the sand and those clouds are great.

Did you do much in photoshop to get the look ?

    That sky is amazing.

i really like the composition here, the sky looks great, the wet sand is gorgeous, and the rocks frame the sea well, but i’d like to see a bit more detail in the rocks on the left as i think that would make it a tad stronger. My eyes stopped there and i almost squinted as i want to see their angles and sharp edges in contrast with the silky smooth sand and water.

Shrapnel beat me to it. Absolutely gorgeous shot, except for loss of details on the rocks. And even that is only a minor quibble.

Very good seascape with dramatic sky and interesting reflection on the sand.

Very atmospheric and good comp. Was it underexposed or ps’d to get the tones?

Thanks. Underexposed. Zero PS work on it. Can’t use the dodge/burn to save my life :)

agree with shrapnel etc, very nice shot, maybe for similar shots in future use a ND grad filter?

Thanks. When I took it, it was about the sky and the reflection hence thats what it was exposed for

Love the composition and sky, Mark.
That said, aside from the sky it just looks a bit too flat, as underexposed shots will (the foamy water looks muddy for example), and for me it also lacks detail and real punch. This is a perfect image for HDR photography, where the average 5 stop range simply isn’t enough to cope with the amount of contrast thrown at it. Ideally, you’d need three to 5 shots bracketed a stop apart to capture the full tonal range available which would give you all the detail in the rocks without losing any impact from the dramatic sky. Very rough approximation of what I mean….

The sky has great drama and the refelction in the sand is great but for me – i agree it does fall flat around the rocks and the middle area.

Mick’s edit is a good indicator of the picture you could have .. I think it would be well worth spending some time on the edit
