    What exposure was it?

Great sky, but I think it needs something in the foreground to finish it off, rather than cropping back…I blocked it off with my hand there, and if you crop the foreground, it looks to distant (in my opinion).

Unfortunately I couldn’t get out any further was already a couple of feet in ocean.
The colour was really nice I thought so I had to take what was available.

It’s not the cropping or the lack of something in the foreground, it’s balance, for me – I wish it was more bottom heavy, to concentrate on the expanse of sea with the lovely rock silhouettes inthe distance, and just a bit of sky. I love that blue tone though. Would even like to see it darker, make the rocks totally black with no detail and the blue really rich. But I’m going through a ‘dark’ phase just now!!

    I like it, Mark.
There’s a calm sense to it and the shades of blue enhance that. I like the composition as it is.

I think your first observation was correct-
I think an inch off the bottom would improve it-

    And your second observation-
I’d have to agree with that too-

    Nice calm image-

Blue on blue with some movement… overall softeness works well IMO.
We can even “see” the reflection of the clouds on the water, and that is what I like the most here.

    I like it Mark.
Simple and nice with great blue …..
Maybe darker (?) as Elven suggested.

Who has been trawling through the older posts :D

Thanks for the comments, I’ll revisit it with the improvements suggested.

Tom: It was taken at Harbour View when the tide was out, so I was standing near the houses on the right hand side of the beach
sometime late evening when there wasn’t much light.

    Cheers

    Tom.
