Noely FParticipant
Anybody know of any camera insurance companies in ireland, not household…all areas!
MarkKeymasterHey Noely,
Something I asked here a few weeks ago also. Investing in camera equipment isn’t cheap of course.
Seems that it’s likely to be covered under home insurance if you have some
Heres the original thread.

Noely FParticipantThanks for the response Mark. I was looking at the policies in the UK for worldwide insurance for your gear, very reasonable indeed. There must be some company here that could offer something similar…….obviously more expensive though :)
Mick451ParticipantThe missus has a fair bit of very expensive high end kit insured cos she does 50% of her work on location.
PJT Insurance Services (01) 840 1254, they’re based in Swords but Llyod’s in London are the actual underwriters as far as I can remember.
They cover a lot of muscians/bands…same situation, lots of expensive kit travelling about the place.Noely FParticipantnolongerParticipantFrom a thread I was reading on Boards.ie… PJT apparently charges something like 250 quid a year minimum… So it really wasn’t worth it for me with my D50.
Noely FParticipantYep, thats a bit rich for me too, compared to the UK cover……we’re being ripped off again.
Whatever happened to this EU common market thingy…..I’ll get insured in France :)BurtParticipantThere are a couple of companies who deal with photographers insurance policies in Ireland but its not worth it unless you have at least 5 or 6 grands worth of gear to cover. Most policies will start at about ?450. If you are looking for cover for a D50 only i wouldn’t bother. You could add it to your home policy but if your camera was stolen outside your home it would be tricky!
