Still faffing about with this camera in an Alan Partridge knowing me knowing you way…so many buttons, so little time!
    Bigger version: http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=200585892&size=o

This yoke has a 10x zoom and a 2x digital, so I wanted to see what the results were on max digital zoom. Pixelated, but in a quirky painterly way I know I’m gonna have fun with. Still, was more interested in trying out a PS technique I came across which makes big things appear small using gaussian blur – an attempt to simulate heavy tilt shift focus on large format cameras. Could be an interesting techique for the future:

    hey Mick,

Dabbled with this a couple of weeks ago, i ended up using example of the web though as i hadnt any shots
of my own that are suitable. I have a link saved somewhere of a guy that is a complete genius when it comes
to this. I’m not sure if it was Olivo Barbieri, will try and dig it out. I’d sharpen the mid section of your shot a tad more.
    Perfect shot for it though.

    Thanks Ali, that’d be cool.
You’re right about the midsection, probably need to take a sharp shot without the 2x button.

My first attempt at this is easily my most viewed photo (over 3000 views) on Flickr. It’s a fun technique, but really requires shots to be from a certain angle. The grass in the front of yours is a bit distracting.

Here’s my first attempt at it:

That’s a really cool shot, Antifuse, love it. The carnival shots look fab too.
Aye, my own one has a lot wrong with it even aside from the grass in the foreground but I just had to try the technique out ;)
