I’m Dave. Born and reared in Dublin, I have been living in the San Francisco Bay Area of California for the past 11 years with San Jose being my home these days. I get to visit Ireland about once a year to top up my northside Dublin accent.
By day I am a mild mannered engineer in Silicon Valley and by night I am..well, pretty much the same only I’m wearing short pants.
Photography has been a hobby of mine since my first Kodak 110 instamatic back when I was a kid. I dabbled in SLR B&W as a teenager but after a while got distracted by other things.
About 2 years ago I splashed out for a Canon 300D (aka Digital Rebel) and my interest in photography started up again. Even though my DSLR is not far from my side, I have recently found myself being drawn back into the unpredictable world of film. Coupled with my addiction for eBay, I am slowly building a small collection of old and wonderful cameras.
I’m looking forward to hanging out here in Photography Ireland
