I am thinking to buy Nikon 200D and Nikkor ED 17-55mm f/2.8G IF DX.
I see not bad prices on the US websites but I would prefer to buy them in Europe because the VAT and other charges what I may pay if I buy it in USA.
Any suggestions?
Also, does somebody has experience with the above equipments?
Thanks.UnalMemberHave a look at http://www.technikdirekt.de, Germany based company
I bought couple of stuff from them, reliable service.
Their reseller rating is not bad either http://www.resellerratings.com/seller2467.html
weelesMemberPerhaps its too late and you have already taken the plunge, but Jessops have just reduced the price of the D200.
I recently upgraded from a D70 and am delighted with the preformance. If the camera has any imperfections I can’t find them, and I have been using cameras for over 30 years. In fact I bought my first digital camera when Kodak released their first 1 MP model.
There is a lot of debate over which brand is best, Canon or Nikon. I don’t claim to know the difinitive answer but I always used Canon SLR film cameras. When I chose to move totally to digital SLRs I tested several models and decided that the Nikon D70 was the one for me. Since then I have aquired several pieces of ‘professional glass’ in the DX format so I am now committed to Nikon, but as I noted, that’s a personal choice.
Finally, one of the reasons I chose Jessops was not price, but aftersales service and their extended warranty. I have 3 years cover INCLUDING accidental damage. Dropping a ?2K camera and lens combination can really ruin you day.
Good luck with whatever you decide

RobertoMemberThanks Les for the reply.
I already bought the camera and lens and very happy with both.
I am waiting for remote control and some filters at the moment.FintanParticipantweeles wrote:

Just wondering if Jessops Dublin do this extended warranty and if so what the cost is usually?
weelesMemberHi Fintan
Don’t know about Jessops in Dublin, but in the UK the insurance policy is actually issued by Domestic and General. Cost is generally around 10% of the value of the goods. What you are actually buying is 2 years warranty commencing after the manufacturers warranty expires, and 3 years accidental damage starting from the moment you buy the goods. But beware, it does not cover total loss of the goods as in theft or dropping them in the river etc. You have to be able to produce the corpse. If you drop it from a great height its covered so long as you can find sufficent bits to identify it as your camera.
