    Mark,

Shots are great, the formula 1 shots taken with the Velvia are super. I actually work with a guy called Ciaran that you used to
go to college with in Sligo :) Small world.

Interesting choice of stock for the F1 images!

Two comments on your website if I may – (a) I find the choice of font a little difficult to read and (b) I’d prefer if I had the option to select which images to view rather than having to scroll through them all. As a dial-up user, having to scroll through the gallery image by image is a pain and I stopped after the thrid image :( although I’d really like to see more. Other than that I like the simplicity of the site – it’s easy to navigate and is very clutter-free, so top marks for that!

As a photographer that travels a lot, can you give us some insight into the logistics of travelling with your gear, particularly given the current restrictions on hand luggage. I’m sure there are others here interested in hearing about that too.

Nice Photos Mark and Good Black and White work.
Site is easy to get around too.

Thorsten- the text is fine. All you need to do is press (CTRL and +) to increase text size. No big deal.

Yes, I know that and you know that but that flies in the face of usability. And besides, why should I, as an end user, have to adjust my browser to view a specific site and then adjust it back again to my “normal” viewing mode? This isn’t something that’s aimed at Marks site specifically, but applies to any site and that is that a site should be easy to use with all the relevant information presented to the viewer without any unnecessary actions having to be taken by the user in order to view the information. Put up two sites with identical content but make one viewer friendly and the other not, which one do you think is going to get the information across better?

Besides I wasn’t commenting on the text size! And besides (no. 2), it’s somewhat of a moot point because it’s now much improved!

Sorry for late reply, but just seen the post at the top and was like “what the!”. Blast for the past!

Anyway, I don’t travel a lot anymore. But pre-July 2006 I used to take all my kit in a lowepro minitrekker (2 bodies, 4/5 lenses) & a 500mm in soft case onto the plane with me. All batteries and chargers & monopod were in checked luggage. After the London bombing restricted carry on, everything went into a Peli case 1510 and was checked in, the 500mm was checked in in it’s hard case. When I left F1 Nov 06 those restrictions were still in place.

From travelling last year to the US, I went back to the minitrekker with all my kit, no big lens anymore. No problems there. The lowepro bags are great cause as you know you can fit a whole lot into them and they still look like a regular backpack. When I used to shoot film (velvia50), we always checked it in, and never had trouble with fogging.
