SodaThanks Dave, I was actually after the bigger variety of dragonfly(the ones that sound like a moped)spent half an hour trying to get a decent shot of one but they wouldn’t land or stay still long enough.
Kept buzzing my head though,they were really extracting the urine :DSuper shots. I spent around an hour shooting these guys today after failing to get sight of a Marsh Harrier at a local spot. I’m more impressed now I understand how hard this process is.
Thanks Joe, a Marsh harrier eh?Log on to “Birdsireland” see has anyone noticed it yet.I told them about a Great spotted woodpecker in Howth castle grounds….invasion of the twitchers followed…..some good shots though :wink:

It’s a known hunting ground for them but I won’t make the location public knowldge. I love the solitude of the place, especially since it’s close to a major urban development. I’d also be wary of the place being destroyed… there’s evidence that the authorities have tried to discourage too mnay visitors from going there. I’ve only once seen someone else at this location and I think he was a researcher.
