No flash photos allowed, shot at 800 iso and adjusted, have to get a nifty fifty for these shots
ciaranParticipantContent wise these don’t appeal to me at all, but like all your shots Noely, technically they’re awesome! You nailed the exposure and not in a gazillion years would I have guessed these were at 800 ISO. Superb!
RobMemberFortunately contentwise these do appeal to me; I have a bit of thing for religious architecture. And a Ciar?n already mentioned, they’re awesome technically. Nice work yet again Noely.
Mick451ParticipantI like the subect matter, but these just aren’t doing it for me…just something a bit flat about them, sorry.
I had it in mind to do some shots of the interior of Christchurch and St Pat’s later this week, so you’ll have a chance for payback ;)
I think this kind of shot is perfect for HDR photography, high dynamic range, which is what I aim to try out; this guy is pretty good at that type of thing (though not to everyone’s taste, I’ll admit):http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=211599406&size=o

There’s quite a few with some interesting takes on getting different results – a lot of the time the results are pretty naff, but the more restrained ones are well worth a look if only for another technique to get the most detail out of an image. Think of it as 9 stop photography ;)
gerardkParticipantNoely – I would agree that content wise those shots dont interest me that much – if anything my personal taste would have been to darken them a bit and try and make them more atmospheric – (though that would have lead to criticism that they were wrong in some other way). I think your shots look technically spot on in difficult shooting circumstances, at that resolution its hard to tell that they were at iso 800 – I would have thought 200 or 4 at most.
Noely FParticipantThanks all, not really my cup of tea either but I wanted to push the 18-55 kit lens, I’ve never shot at 800 so I thought I’d give it a bash  Thank god for Power retouche…..amen!
