Your work is fantastic Noely. Really consistent and varied. What lens do you use? Please don’t tell me the Sigma 70-300 because I cant get anything like these results with mine :?
Noely FParticipantAll the movement shots were taken with the Sigma 70-300 DG APO Lens, it has its limits but when ya get used to it its very versatile…and cheap
ValentiaMemberJeepers. I must practice more. Well if your shots don’t inspire me to get more from it nothing will :o .
MarkKeymasterNoely,
You need to start thinking about providing us mortals with master classes :)
Mark
RobertoMemberI don’t like to disturb the party but I have some comments.
I don’t like the flowers on the right side, specialy the white one. Take your eyes from the main subject. Also, I think that the fly should be bigger.
Noely, I have respect for your macros and like them.Noely FParticipantThats cool Roberto, I respect everybodys opinion.Obviously these shots are reduced for web, I could post a crop of the fly but it would just be a hoverfly against a dark background.
I think the space around the fly is as important as the fly itself and the image was cropped as such.I wasn’t sure whether to crop out the flower or not so I know what you mean about the distraction.
Never apologise for speaking your mind, the images are posted to be commented on
If everybody thought everybody elses images were great it would be a very boring forum :lol:carlParticipantI think there should be more flower in the photo to give the insect more context. So there you go!

Yeah just like betterphoto.com!
RobertoMemberCool Noely!
Carls advice is good. More flowers would be better but you need to do new shots. Wait other hours for your model.davenewtParticipantRobMemberdavenewt wrote:
More naked chicks would be good also, but you can’t have everything :-)
… so maybe you need to start a “poultry” thread… 8)
Noely FParticipantdavenewtParticipantUh oh, quick, someone lock this thread… before it all goes tits up.
(oops, too late!)
Noely, you should have a nice happy macro avatar… not that scary looking bird with the electric eye. It’s going to give me nightmares.
MoyaParticipantNoely,
Love all your macro work…..simply brilliant! And very inspiring!
