Another puffin from Skellig Michael. C & C’s welcome. As always a larger version is available on Flickr by clicking on the picture.
Noely FParticipantValentiaMemberDo ya know Noely I was very tempted but opted not to. The deadness of the puffins eyes is really weird charachteristic. There is never a reflection from them, I don’t know why. So I decided to leave it. I agree it would make a big difference though and there is nothing tempts me more than temptation so you never know :)
Thanks,
Danny
Noely FParticipantG’won…..just a little one, opacity 30% even! Actually it’s a great shot as it stands, the texture is superb..what lens were ya using?
LoGillParticipantThey are just too cute .. in that weird puffin way… ;)
I agree with noely – a itsy bitsy twinkle would just up his charm

ValentiaMemberStill avoiding the temptation, the ol’ conscience is at me :?
Noely would you believe the Sigma 70-300 that you mentioned to me yesterday I have a Sigma 70-200 2.8 which is my most used lens but it wont focus in this close.
Not Pete the blokeParticipantAliParticipantAww how cute :) Hey you know how i feel about Puffin Valentia ;). This is a gorgeous capture, crisp and so vibrant.
Well done!! Hmm i wouldnt be overly worried about the catch lights in the eye.GilesKSParticipantVery nice photo Danny. Glad you didn’t listen to these pseudo ‘nature’ photographers – if it isn’t there, don’t add it.
MarkKeymasterUnusual angle. Seems like a curious chap :).
Perfect exposure which I’d imagine wouldn’t be all that straight-forward given the white on black or is that the other way around. Some of us must arrange a trip for some nature photography.

RobertoMemberValentiaMembersnaphappyMemberstunning pic these guys are for my money one of the most gorgeous birds in the world. Sounds like a great idea mark would love an oppurtunity to learn more about wildlife photography
John DunneParticipantRobMemberTerrific capture. Like Mark’s idea about a nature trip, could be very interesting and instructive.
