At the moment I store some of my negs in pockets that fit into a folder.
I have a few of them labeled and seem to be able to find most of tem quickly enough but I was just wondering if anyone has little system filing system that they thought was good.

Thats a bit of a luxury, I keep mine in a briefcase. The only thing i have started to do now is I put the year and month in the negative sleeve.

Tbh, the bottom drawer in my bedroom in Waterford.

I scan whenever I can, but I have hundred of shots…and laziness is a terrible thing.

I have mine in two folders, one film per sleeve. Fo the sleeves, see here:
    Hama Filing Sheets
I number each film with the year and a sequential number, for example 06-10 for film number 10 of year 2006. For most films I also write some information (location and date) onto the sleeve. I also write the film number on the envelope with the prints. I’m German
I used to write the numbers on every single print, but I gave that up some time ago – I have been living in Ireland for too long now

We use a similar system to this. On a large scale obviously. The main thing is to number or name your negs before you do anything else to them. Keep it simple and keep the numbers in an index book year by year. It works. We start at no 1 each year and usually reach 4,000+ by the end. The suffix is the year 05,06, etc.

We buy our Kenro negs bag/sleeves from http://www.7dayshop.com (along with lots of stuff like batteries and some inks) and our film is delivered in acetate so we retain the acetate for the added protection. The special sized binders (regular ones are too small) come from JM Photo, Inchicore.
