Where to buy tripod

  Hi, can anyone suggest the best (or even a good) place in Ireland/Dublin to buy a tripod.

  I have pretty much settled on a Manfrotto/Bogen – but not the exact model.
  Ideally, I would like to have a look/try before buying.

  I also reckon that any higher Irish price should be balanced out by the high postage cost if I bought abroad.

  If you are in or near Dublin you could talk to Jim, Alan or Denise at DML in Portabello Harbour. They do all the Manfrotto range of stuff. If you get talking to Jim tell him Gerry Costello is out for his blood !………….I hope he’ll remember what he has to do.

  Just a tip as you are buying a new one, get a geared head for it, they are fantastic!

  As for the head, I was going to go for the MANFROTTO 486RC2 – but hope to try before buying.

  Thanks for the suggestions.

  Have just bought a Manfrotto 055 PRO B + 322 RC2 head from a guy in Germany (via ebay).

  I’ve used the head before and found it really convenient.
  The tripod was chosen based on various other recommendations I read/received.
