brownieParticipantHi Dave…you and a thousand others are looking for it…they are just not available
anywhere…looking for one myself for ages…don’t think you will get one second-hand either.Noel
GrahamRParticipantConns said they had a few Big Stoppers in stock just before Xmas and I picked one up,
It was announced on their Facebook page and then could simply just buy online,
Might be worth seeing if they have any left??

The Hi Tech pro gets great reviews and the major bonus is that it is AVAILABLE

You can get them online here http://www.formatt.co.uk/stills-filters/filters/standard-n-d/stills-filters.aspx
and if you have the Lee Filter system they even have one with a thinner gasket to suit :D

daveyboyParticipantMartinParticipantWhy not just buy a 10 stop screw in B+W filter from ebay or some other shop. Why the obsession with Lee/drop in square filters?
The quality of the B+W filters is superb, German made….

I had one of those and to be honest I could have lived with the brown colour cast but the fact that you had to compose the shot and then try and screw the filter on was a pain. Let alone if you had to do that and then wanted to stick some grads on. The drop in filters make life a lot easier :)

Agree totally….much more easier to use a drop in filter, I have recently move from a screw in to the Hitech Pro…unfortunately haven’t really used it yet :?
MartinParticipantGreen Meanie: Never got a brown cast from my B+W filter, are you sure it was a proper B+W filter and not a knock off
Never had a problem screwing filters onto a lens quickly. I have the side of my filter marked where the thread on the filter starts…
Up to you guys but those drop in filters do scratch much easier so be careful with them (well the lee grad ones do as their plastic resin, im not sure if the 10 stop ones are glass or resin)

I bought it brand new from a UK retailer so it was legit :)
I didn’t have a problem with the colour cast as it was easily fixed but you can’t say that it doesn’t produce a brownish cast, unless you are shooting with a custom white balance. Even the Lee has a cast of sorts
