10-stop filters

I have seen some dreamy minimalist shots done using these filters
and am wondering where to get one.[Or can I just stack some less dense ones together and achieve the same effect?]
Typically 1, 2 and 3 stops filter are being sold. To get 10 stops you need 4 filters combined. Not the best idea.
Try to get a glass used for masks/visors by welding guys. Or dig on ebay.

The problem with stacking 2 or 3 filters is that if you are using a wide angle lens, which typically for landscapes you will, it will encroach on the edges of the frame.
I was lucky I got mine on here in the for sale section

get down to your local builder merchant and get the welder visor, paid about 5 quid for mine and works perfectly
Will a square Lee 10 stop fit in a Cokin carrier?
in which case it might be used with the 10-20 or the 18-200?I just got the Lee Big Stopper. It’s 100mm x 100mm so would need the Cokin Z-Pro filter holder,

The welders mask does work…but not great. It does allow light leaks and is around a 15-stopper. It also allows for reflections of the innards of the lens.

If you want one specify Dark (Shade 11) 4 1/4″ x 3 1/4″. These fit perfectly into the P-Series Cokin system and as they are the standard they shouldn’t be difficult to come by in a welders supply. By the way – they cost about €0.40 to buy from a wholesaler so don’t let them rip you off. Either way it’sa bit of cheap fun.Alan.
I had a look at the Lee system at work over the weekend and think I’ll go that way. Thanks to everyone for the advice.
