18-55 is dead

    Hi guys was out for a drive around today and spotted something i wanted to shoot got geared up and of i went,then came back to car sat tripod beside car with camera attached and opened boot turned around just in time to see everything crashing to ground and my lens rolling down road :( :( the lugs on lens all broke but no damage to camera,went and bought a 17-70 f2.8-4.5 as a replacement do you think this is a good lens. :?:

    I asked one of the moderators, It is a good lens for Landscapes i think =) I am looking in to buying this as well, could you show me some pictures you took with it?

    i have just returned from the shop with it so have not used it yet but when i do i will post something

    I’m guessing this is the Sigma 17-70? There are some user reviews here on the B&H site:

    Seems to be a good buy to me.

    EDIT: thats the review for the Canon version of the lens but its a good indication of the quality of the lens.
