Once you get a few good ones though it is very addictive, your
focus seems to be on the centre of the flower rather than on the
bee, quite hard to get the focus where you want it in macros as
the dof can be very shallow, the blades of grass in the front of
the frame are a little distracting, hard to look beyond them, but
for a first attempt you cant expect perfection, :)
Most fun I have had with my pants on in a while.
I was taking the shot of the “wet the bed” when the bee landed on it, it was there for a second I got it while it wobbled only got two, one from behind and this one.
Here are another few from the expidition into the back Garden…….
Very nice first attempt. I wish my first was that good. For macro shots, you are better switching to manual focus. Gives you more control than auto. Just a couple of tips. When shooting insects as large at bees. Try and get the aperture up to around f11. This will give you a good dof without eliminating too much light. If you need to bring up the ISO to get there (maybe ISO 400) then by all means do so. If you have a flash you should try and find a way to diffuse and use it. You images will improve drastically.
