3 Churches – Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford (Another IR Attempt)

Out again today (and what a day it was) trying out the R72 IR filter. Not much cloud, but lots of sunshine.

This is the first of three churches I shot around Enniscorthy. I’ll post the other two shortly… not because I think they are fantastic photos, but just to get some feedback.

Shout out to Vitoldus and Martin for all their assistance on this. I think, although I’m not sure, that I’m getting a little better at this.

Good to see these John. I’ve often wondered what kind of results
one might achieve using an R72. Something odd though with a fall off
    in sharpness towards the edges…

    Yep, noticed that myself Rob.

Not sure whether it’s related but I’ve been shooting at F8 with this filter on, for the saftey of the images as I don’t really know what I’m doing. Usually I’d be into a double figure F stop value for this type of thing.

This is only my second official outing with this filter… and it’s really tough to get the hang off. Manual Mode – F8 – 30secs.. and hope for the best.

These are very nice, your getting the hang of it. For 30 sec exposures they are nice and sharp, corners are a little soft as Rob said but nothing major.

Your making this IR photography look easy:-) Fair play good to see people trying out IR

Looks to me like your comeing along pretty well with this IR stuff
#1 would be my fav although they all look good soft edges aside. As mick said some clouds would have had more impact.
    Nice work,
    Jim
