gavinParticipant
have just added the colour and am interested to see what people think is over cooked, trying to go for that cross process 70s Ireland feel.
more to follow, all comments helpfull
irishshaguaParticipantFirst is by fa my favourite. Not mad about the second one. I’ve nevver been gone on the smooth water effect and this image onl really has that with the dark surrounds. Makes for a nice contrasty image but not really doing it for me…. sorry.
Love the first though. The angles that the walls are heading in. The subtle bit of light falling over the shed and there’s something about the tree that has me really liking it. Nice image

plainoldmeMemberIm for the second one, it’s beautiful although I think its a little too dark or contrasty, you should try do something to bring out a little more detail in the rocks.
gavinParticipantThanks guys interesting getting both views, think first image is slightly out of focus in the background, do you feel i takes away from it..
PixelleMemberI prefer #1, that is to say the one with the cows [in case you post another one!!] Maybe a biteen contrast?
MartinOCParticipantI think the first is the best. (cows) I had some similar shots of cows in Clare but I had to overcook them because the light was bad, and they were very bland.
I think you did a good job.In the second one (cottage) the walls and house are interesting but I think you could have made something more of it,
perhaps taking a shot from further back with more sky for composition. A tripod is good for shots like these because it
makes you think alot about composition before you shoot. (I’m too lazy to bring one, but many people do for this reason).I’m not a fan of moving water shots, (although I do take them myself too), but technically and compositionally its a good shot.
I hope this helps, everyone may have a different opinion.

gavinParticipantThanks folks, the stone walls shot I also feel is missing something, it was a quick shot at the side of the road, and the sky was overly bright…no clouds.
Thanks for the feedback its all very helpfull.
mrnevin2001Participanti like the second shot, the composition is excellent, not your fault that the sky has no detail or else you would have to wait for the clouds.
