I have to say that the second and third images don’t do a lot
for me, but I love the first. It can be difficult enough to find a
subject with enough confidence to be photographed square on
like this – usually you’ll end up with an uncomfortable looking
passport snapshot – but this girl exudes confidence and commands
attention in the frame, so it’s as much her image as yours. My
one quibble with this is the cropping of the top of her head,
which splits the background in two; while this sometimes work
with a darker backdrop, I find it unappealing here.
Great portrait though.Rob.
GrahamBParticipantI agree with Rob on the second two shots. Not really feeling them
I really like the first one though. As Rob mentioned the model seems be very comfortable
and is just beaming confidence. She has a very commanding and intense stare that really holds your attention.
very nice shot. Again though the second two really don’t float my boat.JohnnyMcMillanParticipantGrahamBParticipantI like that second post, it’s a shame about her right eye though. The shadow is a little too severe
and my attention seems to be drawn to it, maybe bringing a little light in there would help.
Or maybe it’s just me.paperdollParticipantI like the first one, on your original post. Very natural looking.
Are these girls models or do you just have gorgeous looking friends?!
ryan52MemberJohnny, The eyes do it for me on the very first post. Perfectly focused to draw you into a set of beautiful, even bewitching eyes.
PatJohnnyMcMillanParticipantryan52MemberStop it, Stop it! I can’t take it any anymore. They are driving me crazy!! (OK well go on then , maybe a few more shots will be OK)

JohnnyMcMillanParticipantalancotterParticipantThats an incredible portrait of the girl in the first picture… just incredible.. The only other time i’ve seen green eyes like that, were the Steve McCurry shot of the Afghan girl… The bokeh is superb in all shots of that girl…
richiehatchMemberI missed these in May….. Always a fan of your work Johnny and these dont disappoint…. well maybe the third…. I see what ye where at but I dont think ye quite nailed it…! As I said before you have amazing looking friends….! I need to get out more….!

AllinthemindParticipantIs Johnny back?
Or is this an old thread?
The 2nd of these is the most interesting, for me. Shadow border plays a big role in the composition.
