I’ve seen a few photos on pbase of people dismantling a 20D. Its remarkable how complex they are inside, but I have no intention of going anywhere near the screwdriver……..and I have to say the results of your 350D link hardly make the exercise worthwhile??
I’m not sure if they mentioned it on that page or on a linked page but I think I read that the whole goal was for better astrological results, apparently a lot of nebulae have very exciting things happening in the IR range. I just can’t believe that they’d do that though, I just get the feeling that the camera would never work quite as well (and I don’t just mean because of the before & after shots), I’d worry that the focal plane would get shifted or things wouldn’t fit together quite right or something. Those nebulae would want to be absolutely fascinating, like a life changing experience, before I’d be willing to risk my 400D.
