4 photos + a question

This is my first attempt at art nude and I was going for a very subtle, tasteful, mysterious vibe.
So, the question is, does it work? Or do I go back to the drawing board?
I would really appreciate any c&c as to what I should be looking out for when doing these type of shoots.
Thanks!
Please excuse the weird flickr sharpening.
Paul WhParticipantHi Summerdreamn
I’m no expert on these things to start off with but they all seem just a little too dark, No 4 to me is the best image, No 1 is a fab shot only for the left arm and hand looks awkward or uneasy. Great for a first try, can’t say I’ll ever try myself.
saberMemberhi summerdream no 2 is very dark on my screen no 4 and 1 is ok no 3 is not subtle but i like it, better lighting then the others let me qualify this by saying i am no expert ,regards saber
SolusMemberI like the highlights on the third, for me that one stands out as the best.
Two is a nice composition, but perhaps a little too dark: it works as an abstract if that’s what you were going for.
The rest are nice, not bad at all, but to my eye they seem to lack a certain ‘energy’. Apart from number three, they all seem to lack drama.
Photos aren’t ‘mysterious’ just because the girly bits are darkened or in shadow.
Generally, the figure looks a little too ‘posed’, static, and uncomfortable.
She looks a little tense. I would have liked the figure be more fluid and free flowing.
Don’t try to ‘force’ the work, wait for the image to emerge from the interplay of energies and creativity in the session.
Build up relationships with models, the more you practice the easier it will get.Arun GaurParticipantSnap HappyMemberI really like the shoot the tones and shades are very nice, lovely pose and nice eye work.
I also have a question, really is it your first time or……
(looks really well for a first shoot)summerdreamnMemberthanks for the comments! and yes, this was my first experience of a nude shoot.
macmanParticipantHave to say, No.2 is my absolute favourite.
I love the subtle silver of light light defining her form to the left.
The slightly more stark outline along her arm, her side and her hip is beautiful also. Will hopefully get around to ‘nudes’ myself at some point, but I think these are superb for a first try.

APJCphotoParticipantAs some other folks have said the images are coming across a bit dark. Maybe go for more of a high contrast look? No 2 and 3 are really good. It’s the tiny bit of light in the eyes thats working for me in 3.
Good work.
