40D remote shutter release

    Hello,
I’d like to do be able to remote trigger the shutter on my 40D. I have a remote for my 400D and one thing that drives me mad is that fact that the receiver in on the front of the camera…
As for my 40D, from what I can see on line I can get a cabled release. But to be honest, this is far from ideal. Should I want to take a shot of myself, I need to run the cable to my hand, and possible interfere with the shot. Can anyone recommend something akin to the 400D remote size wise?

Hahnel do a remote that is wireless, it can be triggered from any angle and
even works through walls! You would probably pick one up for about €50 ish.
I have one and it is very good.

I agree with Jenny. I have one of those from Hahnel too. You could also get Infra red remotes, but they are line-of-sight and are not too reliable as you cannot see the beam. Wireless is the best way to go.

I have this. It costs less than €15 delivered and works perfectly. There is at least a 10m range as I was about that away when I took the shot below and it worked fine.
