Got mine the other day… not so sure about the performance at high ISO… took a shot in a dimly lit room at 1600 and the results were poorer than expected.
I have waiting a while before posting anything about the 5D II
It seems that there is not as many advantages over the MK I.
The low noise high ISO’s are definately a bonus in low light conditions
but from reading various reports from users, it is producing mixed
results, some say it is fantastic in low light and others are a bit
disapointed.
Othere have done comparison tests with both 5D’s between ISO 100 – 400
and notice very little difference in quality.
I think for almost twice the MP you dont necessarily get twice the quality.
The ‘auto iso’ mode can be a bit of a pain but im sure it can be switched off.
But even on the MK I did you know that in between ISO #’s like 125 an image can suffer
from BANDING, I wasnt aware of this myself.
In relation the the hot pixels . . . If you are going to spend €2500 on a peice of
professional equipment you would expect it to be perfect.
As I mentioned before Canon’s quality control is definately lacking.
They are now encouraging their workers to make more babies at home, I think somehow
the people on the assembly line will be paying less attention to detail!
