6 of the best – Craptastic Holga stuff

Mick451ParticipantGizzoParticipant
well, some interesting stuff here.
I really like the second one. but, more than what I think…. what do you think? will you give this another go?jb7ParticipantSpanking new Holga pix from Mick-
First and last for me here-
the last because it makes me look twice-
that premeditated double exposure with all the elements placed just so…
must have taken quite a few goes to get that one-And the first, because of the reckless abandon of getting the camera so close to the surf-
almost underwater…I don’t suppose you’ve any of these earmarked for the book?
The processing seems to have been done by the chemist here Mick-
not necessarily the style of processing I might associate with you-
they look relatively unfiddled with-
Aren’t you tempted to give them some treatment?Good to see these-
though try as you might,
you’re not the last to post from that day…aoluainParticipantAt last we see the result from the lo-fi day remote location.
Im gonna pick 2 fav’s . . . 1 and 6 from a really good set.
for me there are two aspects to #1 which catches my attention
I love the silky smooth feel to the surf bubbling towards me
and I love the moment captured as the waves are breaking,
gives me a feeling of being out at see.
All from a low angle and tilted horizon. LOVITThe last one just has a really nice atmosphere, I think this would
look good also in a sepia finish.Nice one Mick.
What do you think yourself is right? can you see anything in
them?Mick451ParticipantaoluainParticipantMick451ParticipantaoluainParticipantRobMemberGreat stuff Mick, first and last for me too…
I like your method too, keeping the camera at arm’s length sounds
like quite a new challenge…Mick451ParticipantExpresbroParticipantMick451 wrote:
Yeah Robbie, where art thou?
You know, ever since he’s got his Bronica I think he’s been ignoring us.
The snob.
;)Hehe!! I’m right here admiring your Holga output and thinking maybe mine are best left on the roll at this stage… ;-)
Speaking of the Bronica, I must get that lens up to you. Although haven’t done much with the B since I got it..the weather has been crap..I had no meter, and frankly I didn’t have a clue what I was doing. I think I shot 5 or 6 exposures on one frame till I realised the damn Multiple exposure lever was in the up position. Oh dear.
Maybe I should stick to the holga.
I’m kinda hoping I’ll have at least one roll of shots from the day after tomorrow..I’m going to see Sensai Martin and see can he set me on the path to enlightenment.
Anyway’s ..I love the second Double exposure here. I agree with Joseph in that it looks thoughtfully set up and executed. You don’t even have to try. Show-of!!

Mick451ParticipantaoluainParticipantYea winding on is very important for a pano !
worked well though.
I have to try a holga pano like Dave Dunne’s !
jessthespringerParticipantAw, these are cute… love the last two.
The nonchalance of it all leads for a really relaxed approach,
but I think there come a point when that passes, and there is more of a challenge to get something good. These are great, and hopefully we’ll see more from you Mick.
