A Break In The Clouds (2nd Crop Added For Comparison)

When there is sunlight you’ve just got to enjoy it. C&C Welcome:
Here’s an edit with cropping as suggested orginally by Ali and by a number of yee:
paperdollParticipantGrahamBParticipantAidan, normally I would say “don’t give up the day job” ( wildlife ) but some
of your recent shots are really showing a hidden flare you need to look into a
little more.
I really like this shot. I might have tried to get a little lower almost but
having said that I think you nailed it.
Sell the hide Aidan – I don’t think you need it anymorejoe_elwayParticipantThanks for the kind words folks.
Graham: You’ll be shocked .. I now own two flashes and a reflector! I’m deffo going to do more of this.
Paperdoll: This was somewhere in Meath on a tiny back road .. I think it was near “Moylan” or something.
GrahamBParticipantAidan – I’m so proud of ye – I’m nearly weeping here
It’s like you’re all grown up now.FrankieParticipantRobMemberjoe_elway wrote:

Moynalty perhaps?
Very nice Aidan. Love the colours and the strong light in this one. Probably just a
matter of personal taste, but the crop so close to the top of the head doesn’t really
balance with the space on the right of the image, behind Ali, so I’d be tempted to
crop more from that side – a couple of centimeters – just to balance it a little better.Rob.
joe_elwayParticipantThanks for the comments folks.
Frankie: The sky is cool. For me, though, Ali makes this one work. I have to give credit to where it’s due.
Rob: Thanks for the C&C. I’ll give that crop a look later on today.
Jay KingParticipantNice shot Joe…

joe_elwayParticipantThanks Jay!
Graham: Re: “I’m nearly weeping here” LOL! I knew this would make you go “WTF! Where’s the chaffinches!?!?”
GrahamBParticipantjoe_elwayParticipantLOL …. hmm ….
I will make you laugh now … I spent my last remaining book voucher credit at Easons buying Vogue Collection books for future inspiration. I know that some of yee who know me are really going to be scratching their heads, let alone those who know me only outside of Photography !
I have to admit that I enjoyed this more than I would have thought I would a few months or even weeks back. It’s totally different. I can also see myself getting totally immersed and loving it. Miss. B has worked her evil magic on me ;-)
The wildlife shooting isn’t though. I still love the idea of sitting in a hide for hours with nothing but me and an empty tree/field for hours on end. It is totally relaxing and perfect therapy for a stress-bunny like me.
GrahamBParticipantHey you could have borrowed my Vogue books.
Plus diversity is a good thing. Too many people stick to the one thing they
are good at and that’s all they ever shoot.joe_elwayParticipantThorstenMemberI think the horizon may not be perfectly level!!! (hey, I had to try and find something wrong with the image, right!? )
It’s a great image. I like the somewhat unsaturated colour in it. I agree with the opinions expressed above that perhaps cropping a little bit more into the right hand side would give the image a better balance.
