    Hi Jenny,

I always have the problem of HDR’ing an image and the when I look at the “flat” original image it just looks SO less punchy. I’ve saved a few presets in Photomatix that don’t look to overcooked IMO and applied 1 to your image if you don’t mind. Looks less dreamy than your version but just one of the looks I like :)

Nothing brings out the detail in the sky like an exposure blend of some sort

That looks nice John, can I ask what are “presets” and how do you save them? I am using
    Photomatix pro 4

Show off, I’m on V3.2

PM me your email address and I can send the preset to you. It’s just an xmp file that you can drop into C:Program FilesPhotomatixPro3Presets or whatever your local path is.

To be honest it’s really a pseudo HDR that I do as I rarely bracket cos I find with trees and foliage etc you get a lot of ghosting and misalignment. Typically I bring the RAW file into Lightroom and save out 3 jpegs, -2, 0 and +2 stops of exposure. I’ve tried using TIFF files but saw no real difference to be honest.

To save a preset just go all the way to the bottom of the preset drop down when you have settled on the settings that you like.
