I like #1, #2 and #5. The B&W works well. The drake is a nice shot but could do with a little sharpening and a slight saturation boost, in my opinion.
MickSParticipantVery nice set, I like the way you shot the duck. Its a different perspective from a lot of other duck shots!

Well, that’s as close as I could possibly get without chasing it away. A bit zoom made up for not being able to come that close in real. I just loved the colouring of the duck’s head…twas do beautiful!
sirvadMemberup the contrast in that crow picture and it would be your best IMO. The red brush is very important in this too
PixelleMemberNot a crow, i think, but a jackdaw.
The Red Panda one is a beaut. How did you get so close, and while he was out of his den, too?Danny30011980ParticipantPixelle wrote:

The Red Panda one is a beaut. How did you get so close, and while he was out of his den, too?Erm, twas a bit cheating, it wasn’t in real wildlife, but I Dublin Zoo. It turned out quite good, when the background blurred, I tried to cut out all obsticles and get a good position when I took it and make it look look like it’s in real free nature!
Quite a few of those pics have been taken in the Zoo apart from the Seagulls (Swords/Malahide Estuary and City Centre), Ducks the same places, the Bearded Dragons are my sister’s
And yeh, I should try to up contrast the crow one. Anyway it was taken with my old cam back then. I will have a try… thx
djordanParticipantHiya,
Nice pics, just one thing, if you up the contrast on the crow wouldn’t you run the risk of loosing the definition in the eye, i’m only saying because i tried to do the same with some pictures of razorbills i took and it lost its definition. Maybe an antique or industrial preset in lightroom could make the most of the background in the crow image. just an idea, only saying because the background in that photo has some real potential.

And that’s the point— The panda
