A Few Old Rio de Janeiro Images
-
BertieWoosterParticipant
These are photos which were shot in Rio de Janeiro about 4 years ago with an Olympus Camedia 2MP Compact. They?re not fantastic, but I certainly got a lot of fun out of that little camera.
Sugar Loaf Mountain
Horse Racing Stadium
Corcovado
(I?m not really into religious images but I liked this one. The statue is about 20m high and is on top of a huge hill. The vignette effect is caused by the shot being taken while the sun was directly behind the statue.)Feel free to critique the images – but they probably won’t stand up to close scrutiny.

Thank you for starting this thread as I do think that there is a need for it ( it only dawned on me after I read it)
I do like the one of the race track just shows what can be done with the compact camera
RobertoMemberMarkKeymasterAgree with Roberto.
Also it shows that you don’t need the top of the range camera to take interesting and quality shots.
Would be good to see more shots from compacts like thisMark
RobertoMemberI think Mark is right.
If we create section for photos made by compact cameras, undirectly we would push them down as other (low) category.
I also think that this forum should be concentrate to pictures themself, mostly creativity, composition, colour balance………
We should try to comment small size photos (which may be done by small compact cameras with low resolution). I see sometimes that the comment can not be done because the size of the photo. But we can see from the small size if the composition is correct or it is creative or esthetic picture. Ok, we miss some details but still we can give some feedback (good or wrong but something).
I hope, you can understand what I mean.BertieWoosterParticipantHi Roberto
On reflection, I concluded that yourself and Mark were right and I’ve since emailed Mark and changed the title of the thread and a lot of the text in my original posting. Thanks for your comments… and for your regular contributions to the Travel forum.
Best Regards
Bertie
