A few performers from Dublin Zoo
-
andybenitezParticipant
Just a few from yesterday morning in the zoo. Glad I got there before 10am, as ALL the scouts in Ireland and beyond descended on the place. Nice to see really long queues as you are leaving!!!
Any C&C welcome
Tiger – stretching its jaw
Red Panda – happy to pose
Snow Owl – letting me know who is boss
Giraffe – “I told you I am 14ft 4inches tall”
Orangutans playing Peek-a-Boo
RichardBMemberandybenitezParticipantshutterbugParticipantLovely set Andy, especially like the Giraffe shot :) have they finished work
on their enclosure? The last time I was up there it was like a building site
mud everywhere.andybenitezParticipantYeah the work is all done, didn’t have a smaller lens with me to photograph it. Its absolutely fabulous. Theres a long winding walk up and around so you can view the giraffes from a height. Its a credit to the zoo, super job. Well worth a visit
PeteWMemberGreat animal shots, really like the feeling in the tiger shot, although the last one is just crying out for a caption competition, the wee fella is definitely doing something to shame the bigger one
slang61ParticipantSome great shots Andy, was in Dublin Zoo recently and it is a great opportunity for keen amateurs like ourselves.
I hope to get back there during the summer again as the day I was there the works had not finished and the weather was very dull.STU.
JMac-2006Participantgreat shots Andy
especially the tiger and the owl – any time i have been to the zoo they have either been asleep or in the shade hiding :(
have to get there earlier i guess – i have annual pass so no excuse reallyI believe one of the rhinos killed a zebra couple days before new section opened so they have had to seperate them again for a while
what lens did you use?
andybenitezParticipantYeah the rhinos and zebras are separated. Used a sigma 70-200 f2.8 on a Nikon D200. Its a nice combo for the moment, hope to upgrade camera soon.
Noely FParticipantandybenitezParticipantYeah its the second time I’ve seen him awake. He was out and about, strolling around his enclosure
