Hi folks, I’m just back from a summer in Vancouver. It was awesome, as they say. My good friend Jen, got married just last weekend. The wedding was near Cranbrook, in the BC interior. It was a weekend event at a beautiful ranch in the middle of the mountains- 25km from the nearest town. Everyone camped out, and a privileged few, stayed in log cabins. A seriously beautiful wedding!
Here is one shot from the day. Nathan and Jen, just married.
I was actually the cellist for the day- I played some Bach suites during the ceremony, and Canon for the processional. It was great fun- all outdoors with the mountains as a backdrop.
Jen’s aunt was the ‘official’ photographer. I couldn’t take pictures during the ceremony, obviously, but I ran around with my camera the rest of the time. Another couple as a second photog and I’ll feel ready to do the whole thing.
I love that shot Pete, I think there is a lot of feeling in it and the DOF really makes the whole shot feel personal despite the vast scale of the surroundings. Clinical sharpness on the B&G as well, I would be more than happy to be the recipient of that shot!
The mountain wedding idea is great, sounds beautiful and certainly a break from the norm. Don’t know if I could get away with applying the same format in the Mournes though :)
