A Tiller Wheel

This featured in conversation here a while back and the correct term for the wheel on the end of the pole from a windmill. It is indeed a tiller wheel on the end of…wait for it… a tiller beam, or pole. Tacumshine, Co. Wexford.

Good to know the correct terminology. I haven’t been able to sleep
at night for wanting to know…Not my favourite shot of yours Alan. For me this one’s just a little
too busy and I’m not certain where I’m supposed to be looking. We really
need a chainsaw to help create some balance…Rob.
I like the perspective a lot. This is definitely the best shot of this windmill so far. As for the composition, I think it’s a bit too tight on the bottom and there is too much space on the top. Very good try, but it’s still no perfect, you have to keep trying guys… and try harder ;)

I must try harder!LOL… this is effort #4 at this Windmill, and whilst I agree it’s probably the best so far, it’s still not perfect… and everyone seems to be noticing!!!
I think people are distracted by that tree… but it’s there and there’s now’t you can do about it.
We should have a competition… “Who can shoot the best Tacumshane Windmill”.
But on a serious note this is a pretty decent effort… and finally, at the demand of many people, the Miller’s Tiller has made it long awaited debut on PI.
Anyone got a chainsaw???
Feckin’ tree got in every shot I took…except when I climbed it and the only shot I took was very nearly a natural one…heights ain’t my thing! :oops:

Looks like a fine shot to me…and I like the tree…to me the little stone structure to the right of the wheel is more distracting.
Anyway..i like the perspective Alan…

Nope, I ain’t cloning it out. I’ve already cut off the electricity to this part of the world, wiped 2 crows from this earth and disposed of an empty fag box. The wall will have to stay. :wink:
