Abu Dhabi Sunset

Just back from a trip to Abu Dhabi. Took this photo of a sunset from a walkway called “Corniche”. The sky is usually pretty bleached out at sunset, with few (if any) clouds. However, this can lead to a colourful “haze” at dusk.

C&C welcome, especially as my PS skills are limited.

Oh.. I really do like this, it certainly floats my boat.

It’s an interesting take on sunset with the railings in the foreground. And not just your standard railings either.

Some of the buildings along the horizon seem a little worked, but not image killing.

Some super color in the sky. Very tranquil. One of your best shots IMO.

    Thanks John

They don’t do anything by halves in the UAE, hence their version of promenade railings!

Yes, I worked the sky a bit (to rediuce some vignetting and to try to get some contrast) and the buildings along the horizon suffered a bit. I might work on them to reduce their “presence”.

Thanks for the feedback. I’m glad I took the effort to post this one.

    Talk soon …

This picture has a lovely alien-planet comicbook feel to it. Thanks for showing.

Very nice Brian, if you have lightroom the direct positive preset would have a lovely effect with this one.

    Lovely stuff,

Lovely image, but has a bleached look over the promenade.
Sineads edit has improved that somewhat but put a purple tint on it.
Hope you have the original and maybe start from scratch.

    Very nice though.

Yeah I know the purple is a bit much… Limited in PS myself.

Thanks for the feedback. I had left the foreground lighter to retain the detail in the railings. Some PS work on the ground in this one …

    What do you think?

Lovely surreal quality to this one Brian, I love it!
