Advice Needed (3 pics)

flynnyParticipant
This is my first time posting in “people” forum.
I’m normally found lurking in the landscape section.
I’d love to here some feedback from the good people in here.
I’m not worried too much about the posing and such at the moment,
Just the technical aspect to begin with.
These are my three daughters Stacey,Ciara and SarahStacey

RASMITH32MemberNice crisp clear shots, I particularly like #2. Almost looks like ur daughter is sitting in front of a backkdrop. On the composition side I would say its a pity you chopped the feet out of the snaps. I’d suggest moving in closer or moving out and capturing the feet. Nice colour in the second
DakyParticipantI’d be happy with the exposure and the sharpness etc. Don’t know if I’d class this as technical or pose, but in all three images some part of the girls is being cut off, the shoes in the second one for example or the elbow in the third.
Nice family shots.Paul WhParticipantshutterbugParticipantAgree with most thats been said about the framing, all very nice shots, beautiful light and
lovely girls, the last would be my pick probably because of the tighter crop, either to include
all of them (ie elbows feet etc) or much closer on the framing, also the comment about
looking like the background is a “backdrop” struck a chord with me, maybe slightly more
blurring of the background?flynnyParticipantThanks Folks,
I bought the strobist kit from Paddy Barkers last week, and this was the first outing with it,
From my own point of view, the shots were pretty much what I wanted ,
Backlit with the late evening sun, and lit from the front with a speedlight fired into the brolly,
Not that worried about the poses in these particular shots, It was just a bit of fun with the girls,
I was using Thorstens’ guide viewtopic.php?f=62&t=6298” onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false; , Meter from the back and use the flash as the main light.AshbayParticipantHi,
Nicely done indeed.
I agree with the different remarks regarding the crop but that something you could easily fix.
On the other end there is something artificial for me in Ciara’s portrait. The background looks kind of fake for some reasons but maybe I’m the only one with this perception…
