hi all, this is my first post and i come with a question
i have just started a photography course online(for something to do)i do like photography i dont have any serious gear or anything like that just a point and shoot anyway my first practical excersise is this and im stumped already

write a comprehensive brief for the shoot, brief should include
    the theme
the stated outcome of the shoot
any propsmodels etc needed for the shoot
    location of the shoot
time of the shoot and any lighting issues
    equipment to be used

themes are-sport,fashion and glamour, architecture, documentary, music and the arts

to be honest im not sure what it means by write a comprehensive brief for the shoot is it pre shoot?

any tips or advice on how to write or go about it would be great i just need to be pointed in the right direction thanks :?

Off the top of my head, it would basically be planning a shot from start to finish, with details. I have heard of professional photographers doing this kind of thing for fashion shoots for magazines, but never got a chance to talk to one properly about the best way to do one

    Hey Shamrock,

Basically what they are looking for is a planning in writing of the photoshoot. For example, if you are planning a fashion shoot, the theme could be summer. The outcome could be a sunny picture in a field with model and a bit of sun glare … Specify the model you would like to have in the shoot and any props /fashion items in this case. Location of the shoot, the time, the lighting issues, the best light for photography is at dawn or in the evening. In the middle of the day the contrast may be too sharp. Any equipment you may want to use. For example, if you do want to go for a photoshoot during the day, you might consider to bring a white umbrella to soften the light.

    And that should be it.

The best of luck with it!

definitely headings, even academic essays require headings, and those that compartmentalise their answers invariably get better marks…

headings are your friend because they are the readers friend…
