    Hi,

I’m looking for some advice on the pic below.

I am trying to figure out is how I can make the skin look less blotchy ….do I need to start again…

    Thanks

You could try for a high key type of shot (e.g. using a PS filter) – otherwise you could try using some burning, cloning or curves adjustments.

try converting it again using the channel mixer and work with the red channel as dominant, keep it subtle … and play around with the values till its improved .. it should be kinder to the skin texture.

I had a feeling that I would have to start from scratch again !

    thanks

Paul – it is a good shot and the skin can be hard to control… but as suggested this could be massively improved in Photoshop, certainly a high key look would work to some extent. You have indicated that you do not wish your images edited otherwise I am sure that some kind soul on here would be willing to give it a go for you.

Paul, I hope you don’t mind but this is a high key effect – took about 10 seconds, but is a bit rough!

High Key is more than a light image and white background – you’ve got to work to retain detail in the whites

to be honest there is too much detailmissing in this version to make it worth working on best to start again from the original ..
    Sorry !

Try this tutorial, perhaps not for baby skin but might help?
