Im a beginner when it comes to photography.
Looking for a camera for mainly taking motorsport action shots but also for general use.
Im uncertain on which type of camera to buy, either a DSLR or a super zoom like the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ38 / FZ35.
I have a budget of €400.
Any advise greatly appreciated.
grif04Participantfor a 400euro limit to your budget, after doing a quick google on what some Irish shops are selling, you wont get a dSLR and a lens for that money. maybe if ya try a little harder in looking for a cheaper deal.
you said you want it for motorsport. well you might consider getting a pack, slr body + 2 lenses. there are ebay shops on..ebay..that have deals for around the price you are looking at – ive seen them a couple times and are quiet popular and i believe to be quiet trustworthy.
im saying 2 lenses so you will have your standard zoom lens plus a telephoto lens for the motorsports as you might be quiet a distance from the action (unless of course you can get yourself in closer ;) )
i know this is out of your range by about 300 euro but this is the kinda deal that i always see. and the canon rebel is known to be a great beginners slr camera.
the type of camera really is down to your price range, the more expensive naturally are the better quality cameras but in the end, a camera is a camera, just find the best deal for an slr you can find within your budget and there ya go – dont worry about the models of the camera.
but do consider this.
When you buy a Nikon, you are probably going to stick with nikon for the rest of your photography “carreer” as everything you buy, will have to fit nikon, this things wont fit a Canon, and likewise vice versa with canon, sony, panasonic, olympus or pentax.
have a look around ebay for a deal on a lens and bags and such or take a look at slrs within your price range in some shops. like i said the more expensive the better quality camera but in the end, a camera is a camera and they all do the same thing.
phillipMembersteelydanParticipantTry adverts.ie for a second hand 30D, but you would be probably better off if you had €500+ in your budget.
Brownie on here has a 30D for sale and its in the For Sale section , but hes looking for €500 for body only, i can tell you that he looks after his camera gear well, he just has too much of it.
Send him a PM and ask about it.
