    Hi,

I’m trying to decide between these two crops. Any other thoughts most welcome :)

    Hi Brian

I’d go with No 1, you’d almost think it was taken on a Fuji 617, great light, subject and location, the curve in the ploughed field is better in No 2 thought, a better lead in line.

    Hi Brian,
I would go for the second shot as it has a less cramped feel to it than the more panoramic crop.

They both have great light and colour, well done!

    Hi Brian,

Both look very good to me but I prefer the 2nd image.
For some reason it looks more balanced to my eye.

    Cheers.

    John.

    Thanks for the replies folks.

I’m leaning towards the second one I think. I’d prefer if the trees on the right weren’t there so that I could have left a bit more on the second one, must bring a chainsaw in future :D

Normally, I prefer a pano, bit as stated above, it just doesn’t provide the balance needed.

The second feels “right” and is a great pic.

Something going on (digitally/PP) with the coloured light coming over the hills? – almost looks like a halo …

They are both really good but I recon I’d prefer the stronger contrast on the first image. The second was is more calm..I like it edgy though, haha! Plus the 1st pic is pano, fits in real good.

    Thanks again for the replies.

BM, I hope the halo you’re seeing is down to your screen. I was looking at the photo on a laptop earlier and the sky looked horrible. It looks fine on my calibrated screen so hopefully that’s the problem.
