Hi Just a quick question. Will the airport security scans do my 35mm film any harm. An if so what can I do to keep my images protected. The film I am using is Ilford HP5 & FP4

    Look forward to your posts.

You may not need to do anything to protect your films! It all depends on how many x-ray scans you’re going to go through as the effect is cumulative. I can’t say that I’ve ever really had a big problem with this myself in the past but then again, I’ve never really subjected my films to more than 2 x-ray scans. Whatever you do, do not check them in – hold baggage is subjected to much stronger x-ray scans than hand luggage is.

Carried both these films in hand luggage without any problems on many occasions.
