Airport… somewhere in Spain

resistorMember
I honestly can’t remember which airport this is… I know someone on this forum (lots of someones) will remind me…
RobMemberHave to admit that I don’t really know anything about architectural
photography, but I really like what I see here. To my eye the composition
is very pleasing, lots of interesting lines and angles, and really nice
light and colour throughout. Like it a lot…Rob.
resistorMemberah, glad you like it… to be honest, its such an amazing building (won lots of Arch. awards of course), it would be difficult not to get a decent shot… the repeditivness of the lines and angles are presented by the barreled bamboo roof, tube steel supports, cirular skylight, glazed barriers etc… they are there for the recording.
I’ve noticed a wee blob of green on the upper right that should have been cropped out, ah well… m.
jb7ParticipantAnother good one Resistor-

Well there you are-
I was going to say that-Lovely colour too-

Jay KingParticipantYeah I wouldn’t know much about an architectural shot myself, but this to me is nice….
I think the rule of thirds works well here.
It’s the Barajas airport, in Madrid… and it’s one of the nicer shots I’ve seen of it too.
Nice job
SwordieMemberresistorMemberah, Madrid, that’s right… I remember now, thinking at the time that Michael O’Leary would love it, if only cos one has to walk even longer through this airport than one does through the ‘hall of hell’ in Ryanairs’ Dublin Airport terminal… and not a Kingspan panel in sight… if you are ever passing through, keep the camera handy, even if architectural stuff is not your forte, it?s still a pleasurable visual experience… m (resistor)
TompixBandonMemberVery nice photo, as in pleasing to look at.
The composition is great and it has a lot of variety of angles and directions without being cluttered.
Well done.
Tom.summerdreamnMemberlovely lines. i appreciate it more as an abstract as i don’t know much about architecture either :)
richiehatchMemberYes Madrid airport for sure… designed by Richard Rogers Architects (or whatever they are called now)…. one of their better
projects if ye ask me…! In fact it won the Stirling prize in 2006…! Have a look here for some other nice info on it…
http://www.rsh-p.com/render.aspx?siteID=1&navIDs=1,4,24,296,1035 I passed through here earlier this year and was very
impressed by it… managed to snap a few pics of it as we ran for our baggage… What I really liked is that the structure is painted
different colours fading from blue to red along the length of the building…! Its a huge building…! I think your colours may be a wee
bit off… the timber looked warmer than that to me…? Here are a couple of my shots in the yellow section…

FintanParticipantNice photo, yes its Madrid.
Must be the most beautiful airport with the slowest baggage reclaim in the world.
