Heading to Alaska at the end of the month for about 14 nights… Has anyone on here been there before and if so got and tips, places that are really worth a visit apart from the whole place from what I can find out. I have rented a 31ft RV for the time so can get around easy enough. Have already sorted out a boat trip from Seward to the fjords so which will be so cool plus will get some fishing in for halibut. I was looking at the bear viewing trips from Homer(I think) where you fly out on a small boat plane to the view bears in the own habitat in Katmai national park.
So any info anything really will be brillant.
Cheers
Johnnfl-fanParticipantIf you PM PeteTheBloke he might be able to help… he’s a bit of an expert on these things.
Otherwise PI Member Martin would be a good option.
BMParticipantMartinParticipantAlaska is an amazing spot. Was there last August with two other from PI for 3 weeks
Link below to some of Haukes pictures along with what we did for the 3 weeks on the side. Would recommend what we did for the first two weeks. Only thing I would change is that I would have visited Homer located in the Kenai Peninsula. You wont be able to visit McCarthy and Kennecot with the RV unfortunately…

johnhigParticipantCheers Martin, you guys did allot while you where there. The plan is a the moment to leave Anchorage and go to Seward, do a full day Fjord tour then maybe a days halibut fishing.. We are then heading to Homer where we are thinking about flying out to Katmi National Park to view bears… But about about 5-6 days maybe 7 in and around Kenai we’ll then head to Denali for a couple of days then up to Fairbanks for a couple of days…
There is so much to do and see there you’d need a few months just to take it all in…
