next time your in strabane you should give me a shout. we can go photo shooting together :) :) :)
jb7ParticipantQuite sad looking pictures-
Do you have any more?Any chance of some backround information?
ciaranParticipantI’d also like to hear some background information on these as they kind of seem lost without being put in context. They’re both smashing by the way.. number on1 is a little freaky because of the shallow DOF used – the woman in the foreground sticks out. But the main subject is framed so well. Number 2 is excellent.. I love the grainy feel.
earthairfireParticipantI’d be tempted to crop the top pic and lose the lady in the foreground – would make a really strong shot.
Love the second shot with that grainy feel.Tim
PeteTheBlokeMemberEastern Europe? Russia? Not Strabane… I’m fairly sure.
Very thought-provoking shots. Well photographed.
freshphotoParticipanttaken in venice at an old folks home for their xmas party the only time they get visited, these people have no one left alive and are looked after by the state, the woman in the shot put in context is very necessary she tells a story the old guy wondering whats ahead perhaps, most of these ppl cannot fend for themselves and therefore their minds ar rambling i am privilaged to have been asked to attend this and even though it was very sad and brought me totally to earth i enjoyed every minute of their comapny and would do it again in a heartbeat.
freshphotoParticipantyes cropping the lady would make a strong portrait, but the shot would loose its impact, have a go and see,
RobMemberMarkKeymasterAgree with Rob, very touching. Could very easily be anywhere in Ireland.

steelydanParticipantHave you tried them in Black And White??? I like them very much but something tells me that would have even more impact in B&W? Or is it just me
FlipflipParticipantI dont think the shots would really lose impact if you cropped out the lady, I think it would really improve the shot but it seems to be coming down to personal opinion rather than technical advice so just do whichever you prefer.
Two great shots none the less.
freshphotoParticipantthanks for the interest and u know what for some strange reason i never thought of doing these in bw, thought of xp them but not bw thanks for that ill have a go and see what happens, i just got so engrossed in them and the feelings i had when i shot them wondering are they still alive or dead or what.
