Not your typical nature shot I know!

I was at the zoo today ( didn’t manage to bump into any of you ) for the first time in AGES. Anyway, for some reason I spent most of my time photographing these characters. Here’s one shot of a lovely old lady

Nice shot! Very charismatic lady. Didn’t get any closeups of the chimps like that at all. Maybe needs a tad more contrast?

Jaysus … how’d you miss us? 5 of us together at times and usually 4. We moved pretty slowly around all parts.

Not sure about the contrast.. I’m between pushing it some more and leaving it :? I walked around myself, but didn’t find it easy to shoot through either dirty glass windows or fences. So the chimps were the easiest thing to photograph, plus they’re not too far away from people, so I seemed naturally drawn to photographing them. Apart from the odd shot of herons (think they’re herons?), which seem to be in massive supply in the zoo, I focused on lots of close ups of the chimps.

Yeah, I expected to bump into you all to be honest. The amount of people with SLR’s there was just incredible  Anyway, I probably didn’t spot you all because I had a camera glued to my eye and it was generally pointed towards the chimps

Ah that’s a pity Ciaran..you should have given us a shout on the phone. We all ended up back in the Hole in the Wall for dinner and a few drinks…was a nice day.

That must have been the chimps on the left as you go in….they were really hamming it up for the cameras today… :D

Got a lovely funny shot of one of the Orangs…crappy quality…but endearing…they are so funny.

They’re (Grey) Herons alright. I think we took a few hundred shots of them between us!

Love the composition, and the expression you’ve caught is
superb. Crop works perfectly here too. I’d probably be with
Aidan though on increasing the contrast, though that could
be the monitor I’m using this evening. Nice shot Ciaran.
